Released November 1, 2013
Version 1.27 of the Realtors Property Resource® website introduces new functionality in the Commercial application—lease information for commercial properties and business points of interest displayed on maps—plus pilot programs for a new report type and an AVM display module for Brokers. In addition, RPR has updated many of the demographic- and Census-based data sets displayed on Neighborhood and Trade Area details pages and used for Commercial analysis, mapping and other core functions.
A summary of the key features in this release is below. If you would like more help finding or using anything in RPR, please visit http://blog.narrpr.com/training/.
Commercial Points of Interest and Lease
Maps in RPR Commercial now display business points of interest in ten broad categories such as retail, manufacturing and finance, and nearly 100 subcategories. These points of interest can be managed via a new map panel.
Each point of interest displays basic information about the business at that location: the address, number of employees, annual sales volume and industry. The points display at zoom level 12 on the map, and work best when the map is zoomed close to street level, especially in urban areas where there are many locations in proximity. Points of interest will be coming soon to Residential maps.
In addition, commercial properties for lease are now flagged on maps and Property Details pages, and lease pricing information is displayed in Search Results and on Property Details pages where available. You can search for lease properties as a separate function from a listing search.
Note that a property that is for sale and also available for lease will surface in both a listing search and a lease search. Also note that some lease information may now appear in RPR Residential if the property is commercial.
RPR Broker AVM
The RPR Broker AVM displays an AVM and associated data that Brokers can use on their public websites. The RPR Broker AVM is offered as an easy-to-set-up and highly customizable widget that can appear right alongside a listing or other property information, or as a “What’s your home worth” lead generation tool.
This tool is offered free of charge to pilot Brokers through RPR’s Broker Tools Program. The widget provides a simple, attractive display of valuation information for a specific property. The Broker AVM is being launched in a limited pilot program, after which it will be available broadly.
Economic Area Reports
RPR has been developing two new reports to support NAR member outreach in government affairs and economic development. Economic Area Reports are a powerful and attractive presentation of economic and consumer data.
The Federal Economic Area Report, now available to pilot users—primarily Association staff and REALTORS® serving as Federal Political Coordinators (FPCs)—provides Federal legislators with insights into the economics and demographics of their congressional district or state. The Economic Area Report, coming soon, provides local and county officials insights into the demographics and trends in their local area and supports county and regional economic analysis for planning and growth. The new reports focus on consumer metrics, economics trends and demographic change.
The new reports are accessed via a portal that contains the MLS and Association Dashboards and Broker Tools. After the pilot period, the Economic Area reports will be available more broadly to Association staff, government affairs directors and FPCs.
Fannie Mae HomePath Properties
Users who are interested in REO properties owned by Fannie Mae can now find information and tools for making offers on these properties. You can obtain the forms and information you will need to make an offer online via Fannie Mae’s HomePath website. You can also find out if a property qualifies for a special program or incentive, such as the HomePath First Look period or a HomePath Mortgage.
Look for the HomePath module that displays on the right side of the property’s detail page.
RPR has updated many of the demographic- and Census-based data sets displayed on Neighborhood and Trade Area details pages and used for Commercial analysis, mapping and other core functions. Highlights include:
- Census data, thematic map layer data and Commercial market analysis indicator data updated from 2010 to 2012.
- Projections for 2017 Census data available in the Commercial Trade Area Report.
- New boundaries for Census Block Groups.
Please note that some marital status and education data are temporarily unavailable due to an issue with the data provider. These data sets will be restored in early 2014.
- RPR is preparing an updated RPR mobile application suite for the iPhone and Android operating systems.
- RPR will be making our MLS and Association Dashboard—now in beta testing—available in broad release.
