How does RPR place properties that are missing street address information?

Updated: 4/17/2014

It is not uncommon for properties, especially commercial and land properties, to be missing a street address in assessment records. RPR includes such properties in search results, despite the missing information, because our goal is to make all data accessible.

RPR uses multiple sources to try to place on our maps, properties without a supplied street address. The preferred source is a data set of APN and latitude / longitude information that can be matched to our property database. The information is provided to RPR by a data partner, Black Knight Financial Services. Some properties can be accurately placed using this information.

Other properties are placed using a ZIP code center point. This is not ideal, because it can lead to map pins appearing to be stacked up on maps, but it allows the property record to be returned in search results rather than to be missing entirely.
